BEA Delegates at the NEA RA 2003

In the midst of Tropical Storm "Bill," thousands of NEA Delegates descended upon the site of the 2003 NEA Representative Assembly in New Orleans!

Shaken, but nonetheless okay, several BEA members arrived at the MTA State Delegation hotel, the Wyndham Canal Place. On the 11th floor, overlooking the mighty Mississippi, MTA delegates were welcomed by MTA President Cathy Boudreau, Vice-President Anne Wass and MTA members of the state and national boards of directors. This was the beginning of many meetings as the delegates set to amending rules, setting policy and holding elections for the NEA 2003-2004 year.

The following link will give you information, day by day, of the business of the NEA RA, 2003. http://www.nea.org/annualmeeting/raaction/index.html

Delegates from the BEA attended daily early morning (7 AM) caucus meetings and sat diligently through the 4-day Convention. All BEA delegates felt empowered that they have a voice that counts in the NEA.
